Anwar D. Burton is an attorney at Bokhour Law Group, P.C. Mr. Burton’s practice is devoted exclusively to the representation of employees in the litigation of labor and employment matters against their current or former employer including discrimination, harassment, retaliation wrongful termination, whistleblower cases, and complex wage and hour class actions and representative actions. Throughout his career, Mr. Burton has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Burton was selected by Super Lawyers as a Southern California Rising Star in 2022. This honor is given to no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state.
Mr. Burton is a 2007 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law. In law school, Mr. Burton clerked for the Lane County District Attorney’s Office and was an active member of the Black Law Students Association and OUTLaws , an LGBTQIA student organization .
In 2004, Mr. Burton obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from University of California, Irvine where he graduated with honors.
Mr. Burton is an active member of the State Bar of California, the California Employment Lawyers Association, and all State and Federal District Courts of California. Additionally, Mr. Burton serves on the Board of Governors for the LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles.
Outside of the practice of law, Mr. Burton enjoys traveling, running, reading, watching college football and going to the movies.
